Door Security

When my door was kicked down, I started doing research on ways to prevent that from happening again. Found a site that sells a 5 foot long strikeplate that you drill into the wall stud (vs just the doorjam). Because there is only an inch of soft wood securing your door, it's very easy to kick in.

If you are interested in buying the more secure strikeplate, I have a yellow button in my favorites on the right side of my blog. It's about $100 and ships in 2-3 days. I put on my front door and got another for the garage door since they open in.
